Amrut Raw Cask Peated (Blackadder)
It’s time for a wee visit to India again. Recently we tried a sherry matured Amrut from Blackadder and this time we tasted a peated Amrut. This peated Amrut is bottled by Blackadder for their Raw Cask range without any age statement, chill-filtration and added colours. It’s pure whisky straight from a bourbon cask at cask strength 63% ABV.
A raw peated fire smoke with some sweet tones of honey and fruits.
This is a smoke explosion ! Burnt wood, together with some dark chocolate and woody spices. Even some great sweetness like citrus and peach.
Long and warm, and you can really feel the smoky texture afterwards. Some hints of sweet citrus.
This is RAW(!) and it’s a peat monster. Despite its high alcoholic content it really delivers a great taste sensation. Peated and sweet at the same time and it still works neat.
